How it works
- Pick your sheet: the document is exactly the size of one label. The safety margin is set to 1.5 mm (about 1/16 in), so even small labels keep room for content.
- Design: text, logos from PDF or Illustrator, QR codes and barcodes. If every label should be different – addresses from a spreadsheet, say – mail merge (Pro) takes care of it.
- Send to Snuglay: one click opens your design in Snuglay with the label sheet already set. Margins and spacing are fixed, and you see the label spots on the sheet. With mail merge, Snuglay spreads the records across as many sheets as needed, in order.
- Print: print the PDF at “Actual size” – after a test print on plain paper, held against the label sheet in front of a light.
Why exact measurements matter
Label sheets leave little room for error: a few tenths of a millimeter per row add up over ten rows. That’s why Snuglay doesn’t place labels by the size of your artwork but by the actual label positions on the sheet, and centers your design on each one. Where Avery’s templates differ from the rounded sizes on the package – Avery 5195 is 0.66 in tall in the template, for example – Snuglay follows the template.
Full-bleed backgrounds are covered too: with crop marks on, every label gets bleed toward the outside and into the gaps between labels. Where labels butt up against each other, there’s none. So no white edges are left, whether the corners are rounded or not.
Already have a finished PDF?
Then you don’t need LaydoStudio at all. In Snuglay, load your PDF and choose the label sheet under “Format preset”. If your design matches the label, it lands on every spot. If not, Snuglay tells you which size the sheet needs.
