Towards the agency: your draft as IDML
You have a clear idea, but you’d like a pro to fine-tune it? Build the layout in LaydoStudio and export it as IDML – the exchange format Adobe InDesign opens directly.
- Editable, not frozen: text frames, shapes, colours and images arrive as real InDesign objects. Images come as links in the included package.
- On the right foundation: size, bleed and colours are already correct in the draft. The designer doesn’t have to rebuild anything and can get straight to designing.
- Or straight to the printer: if the draft is already good to go, send the print-ready PDF instead – in CMYK and marked PDF/X-4.
To be fair: a logo you placed as PDF or AI arrives in IDML as an image – ideally the designer swaps in the original file in InDesign. Rotated objects arrive unrotated, and a sticker cut contour doesn’t carry over. The PDF export gets all of this right.
Towards the client: handing over the Brand-Kit
For agencies and designers it also works the other way round. You set up the Brand-Kit for your client – company details, brand colours with exact CMYK values, logo variants, brand fonts and the rules for where the logo sits – and create the key print pieces right away.
- Hand it over as a file: just the Brand-Kit or together with all of the brand’s documents. Your client adds it with one click, and existing documents are never overwritten.
- Small changes, done by the client: a new team member, a changed phone number, a voucher for an anniversary. Colours, logo and fonts come from the Brand-Kit you set up.
- Several clients, kept apart: every brand is its own workspace with its own documents. The editor always shows who you’re working for.
